Sydney Energy Successfully Delivers on Castlemaine Project

CASTLEMAINE - Sydney Energy Cooperative Limited has completed installations for the community solar installation project in Castlemaine, North-Central Victoria. The project was instigated and led by climate action organisation, Mount Alexander Sustainability Group (MASG).

The project installed seventy-two grid connected PV systems in the small town of Castlemaine and surrounds.

Interstate cooperation produces results
The proportion of solar panels to homes in the area is now nation-leading. Mounted on existing roof structures on regular homes, the systems serve homes with energy, exporting the surplus to the electricity grid (requiring no batteries). The project combines Sydney Energy Coop technical expertise with local tradespeople and community involvement to provide a quality, sustainable solar offering to the people of Castlemaine and surrounds.

More to come
Sydney Energy Co-op is currently working with like minded organisations to implement similar projects in Sydney, Newcastle, and Cowra.

MASG has worked on a range of bicycle, solar, and energy efficiency initiatives in the vicinity of Castlemaine. We are pleased to inform that residents in the area can now enjoy Sydney Energy Cooperative's standard solar offering and installation in their area will be arranged with the newly trained, local green electricians.
